Pembahasan Soal Bahasa Inggris Chapter 4 Halaman 65 Kelas 10 (Writing)

- Soal yang kita diskusikan kini berasal dari buku bahasa Inggris kelas X (sepuluh) tingkat Sekolah Menengan Atas / Sekolah Menengah kejuruan / MA / MAK masuk pembahasan Chapter 4 Hal 64 potongan Writing. Seperti biasa saya akan menerangkan perintah soal dan cara mengerjakannya.

Latihan 1: Mengubah/Memperbaiki - Tugas bareng sobat sebangku

Read the following description about a tourist destination carefully. The writer forgot to edit her draft. Can you find the errors in the text and help her edit the text?

End the trip with something that can warm you up. In the rest area, you can buy roasted sweet corns. If that is not enough, you can also buy drinks hot delicious and meatball soup hot. When you go home, leave nothing in the area but your footsteps and bring home only your memory unforgettabel about the beautiful Cuban Rondo Waterfall.

PENJELASAN

Di atas ada dua buah teks yang berisikan teks orisinil dari dalam buku, dan teks hasil revisian sesuai perintah soal pada kiprah kita kali ini. Makara pada teks orisinil saya sengaja menampilkan tanda warna merah pada kata atau kalimat yang salah dan mesti diperbaiki.
Sementara dibagian hasil revisi, saya kasih tanda kuning untuk menampilkan bahwa kata atau kalimat tersebut ialah hasil dari perbaikan yang kita lakukan. Tanda coret membuktikan kalimat tersebut mesti dihapus. Sedangkan tanda kurung itu klarifikasi kenapa mesti dicoret.
Untuk memudahkan kalian memahaminya, maka akan saya jelaskan satu persatu, mengapa kata yang di tandai warna merah itu salah.

waterfal ➜ waterfall
Secara penulisan kata ini terperinci salah, sebab harusnya abjad "L" itu double (ada 2). Waterfall artinya air terjun.
Bowl Giant ➜ giant bowl
Frase ini salah sebab menggunakan abjad kapital dan posisinya terbalik. Ingat! adjective (kata sifat) mesti berada sebelum noun (kata benda). Giant artinya besar / raksasa yang tergolong kata sifat ukuran (size)
God The ➜ God. The
Kesalahannya terletak pada tanda baca. Maka mesti di tambah titik dan dibentuk menjadi paragraf baru.
splash ➜ splashes
Kedudukan kata splash di sini selaku verb (kata kerja). Karena subject nya yakni "huge amount of water yang tergolong uncountable noun (kata benda tak terhitung), kemudian kata kerja pada kalimat sebelum dan sesudahnya menggunakan verb+s/es, yakni kata "falls" dan "forms" maka splash mesti ikut menggunakan kata kerja berakhiran "s" atau "es". Maka kita tambah akhiran "es" sebab abjad final dari kata splash yakni "sh". Ingat pelajaran di potongan yang kemudian yang membahasan kapan pakai "s" dan kapan pakai "es".
blow ➜ blows
Sama menyerupai nomor 4, kedudukan blow yakni selaku verb (kata kerja). Kata kerja untuk subject tunggal atau tidak sanggup dijumlah mesti menggunakan akhiran "s/es". Berhubung subject-nya di sini yakni The wind (angin). Angin tergolong uncountable noun. Maka mesti ditambah akhiran s/es pada kata kerja blow. Karena blow berakhiran abjad "w", maka cukup kita tambah abjad "s" saja.

Kata ini dihapus sebab tidak relevan dengan teks. Di teks tidak ada membicarakan tentang boat (perahu)

But you can go to the mall ➜ dihapus
Kata ini dihapus karena tidak relevan dengan teks. Di teks tidak ada membicarakan tentang mall (pusat belanja)
shine ➜ shines
Karena sunlight ialah subject uncountable noun (kata benda tak terhitung), maka verb (kata kerja) mesti ditambah abjad s/es. Jadilah shines, cukup tambah "s" sebab kata itu berakhiran dengan abjad "e".
you the ➜ you. The
Kesalahannya pada tanda dan abjad kapital. Di final kata you mesti ditambah titik sebab itu final kalimat. Lalu sesudah tanda titik mesti menggunakan abjad kapital (besar).
drinks hot delicious ➜ hot delicious drinks
Lagi-lagi kesalahannya pada posisi kata dalam frase. INGAT! noun (kata benda) mesti berada sesudah adjective (kata sifat). Drinks di sini artinya bukan "meminum", namun artinya "minuman". Makara mesti ditaruh paling akhir. Kalau letak kata drinks di tengah nanti menjadi verb (kata kerja), sementara di kalimat itu telah ada kata kerjanya, yakni buy (membeli). Dilarang ada dua kata kerja berdekatan menyerupai itu.
meatball soup hot ➜ hot meatball soup
Hampir sama dengan nomor 10. Kalau tadi peletakan noun (kata benda) yang salah. Kalau ini peletakan adjective (kata sifat) yang salah. Tapi rumusnya tetap sama, Adjective dahulu gres Noun. Karena hot (panas) ialah kata sifat opinion (pendapat), jadi kita letakkan sebelum meatball soup (bakso)
memory unforgettabel ➜ unforgettable memory
Kesalahan posisi kata dan penulisan table. Unforgattable (tak terlupakan) yakni kata sifat opinion (pendapat), sementara memory yakni kata benda. INGAT! kata sifat dahulu gres kata benda, jangan terbalik.
